DEI Initiatives. Today’s RFPs now routinely include diversity as a rating metric, yet some firms still struggle with diversity numbers. The Foundation for Advancement of Diversity in IP Law (FADIPL), formerly the American Intellectual Property Law Education Foundation, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that directly advances diversity in the IP profession and provides firms with a solution to increase diversity.

FADIPL annually awards $30,000 law school scholarships and showcases a robust career guidance program to select qualified diverse Scholars. The Foundation’s main goal is to offer its programming to incoming law students who identify as members of racial and ethnic groups underrepresented in intellectual property law profession in the US. The selected Scholars must show interest in pursuing a career in IP law (by undergraduate degree or otherwise).

LOT Network supports FADIPL and has partnered with FADIPL to increase awareness of the Scholar Program. Please consider donating to FADIPL and encouraging your outside counsel to financially support FADIPL.
