Christof Wolpert
With more than 25 years of experience in patent strategy, portfolio management, litigation defence, and innovation‑related agreements, Christof is known for his pragmatic, business‑focused approach to IP. Since joining adidas in 1999, he has held several leadership roles and built the company’s in‑house patent function into a multi‑site global team. Christof is a European Patent Attorney and holds a Diploma in Physics.
Christoph Schober
Christoph Schober has been appointed to the Unified Patent Court in June 2023. His technical focus is in mechanical and process engineering.
Professional Experience in Intellectual Property
Christoph Schober has been a partner at the Munich-based law firm Flügel Preissner Schober Seidel since 2002. As a patent attorney, he primarily advises clients in the fields of mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electronics and information technology as well as medical technologies. Christoph Schober’s professional activities as a patent attorney cover all areas of intellectual property, i.e. patents, trademarks and designs.
Education
After graduating from grammar school in 1989, Christoph Schober studied mechanical and process engineering at the University of Kaiserslautern from 1990 to 1995 and graduated with a degree in engineering. He then trained as a patent attorney in Düsseldorf and Munich and was admitted as a German patent attorney in 2000. He qualified as a professional representative before the European Patent Office and additionally completed a law degree at the FernUniversity of Hagen in 2008 with the title Legum Magister (LL.M.).

Gwilym has extensive experience in advising on FTO both at product feature level but also in terms of building risk management practice into product development processes. His strong focus on identifying potential IP risks and developing mitigation strategies has been implemented for multiple clients with board-level acceptance.
As well as being a Visiting Professor at Queen Mary University of London, Gwilym is Honorary Secretary of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA) and co-host of the podcast Two IPs in a Pod alongside CIPA’s Lee Davies. He is proud to have recently been recognised by Chambers as an “Eminent Practitioner”.

Ishak Jonas Ishak
Dr. Ishak Jonas Isik is a seasoned legal attorney with an extensive international background and deep expertise in intellectual property and corporate law. Ishak currently serves as Group Head of Intellectual Property at Siemens Energy, where he leads the global IP organization and shapes its strategic direction. Under his leadership, Siemens Energy’s IP function has received multiple industry awards, including the Gold Award “Best IP Department Germany” from Leaders’ League.
Ishak brings broad international leadership experience from senior legal roles across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Turkey, including General Counsel, VP for EU government affairs, and regional legal management positions.
He started his career in international law firms after studies in Germany, France, and England as well as holds a Ph.D. in EU Law from the University of Münster and an LL.M. from the University of East Anglia in Norwich.
Julio Fonseca
Julio is a senior IP counsel at ASML’s Corporate Intellectual Property department (“CIP”). CIP’s mission is to maximize the value of ASML’s IP, to maintain ASML’s technological freedom to operate and market share. At CIP, Julio deals with contract negotiations, licensing and counseling regarding IP matters arising out of ASML’s dealings with other ASML entities and external parties (suppliers, partners, customers, research institutes, universities, and government bodies). Before joining ASML, Julio was a senior intellectual property associate at big law in Brazil and in the USA, where he assisted clients on contract negotiations, cross-border licensing, technology transfer transactions, IP enforcement, and M&A deals. Julio holds a bachelor’s degree in law from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and a LLM in intellectual property law from the George Washington University (USA).
Ken Seddon
Ken Seddon joined LOT in 2015 bringing over 25 years of experience managing all areas of intellectual property. Previously, Ken was with some of the largest patent holders in the world including Apple, Micron, Motorola, Intel and most recently as the Vice President of IP at ARM.
Ken drafted over 300 patent applications while at Motorola and Intel and managed all US patent prosecution at Intel. Ken served as Chief IP Counsel of Numonyx, which was later acquired by Micron. From there, Ken moved on to Apple where he developed the IP strategy for future products, did patent acquisitions, and defended from PAE assertions. Ken then went on to be the VP of IP at ARM before being selected by the Board of Directors to be the first CEO of LOT Network.
Ken has a BS in Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, a master’s degree in Solid State Device Physics and a Juris Doctorate from Arizona State University.

IP Legal Counsel with over a decade of legal experience, primarily in patents, specializing in SEP licensing, policy advocacy, and IP risk management. She has contributed to the development of European SEP policy, led royalty-related projects, and managed complex IP matters across global automotive supply chains. In her current role as IP Risk Manager, Luiza oversees IP risk governance and aligns cross-functional teams to strengthen risk mitigation, audit readiness, and maintain stakeholder trust.
Miriam Kiefer
The focus of my work is on litigation in the field of intellectual property. I have conducted more than a hundred infringement proceedings, primarily for patents and utility models. A majority of these disputes were cross-border proceedings, I am thus familiar with the coordination of multinational disputes. One of my passions is technology – however, my enthusiasm and love of detail is also engaged in other technical areas. In addition to the enforcement of technical property rights, I also represent my domestic and international clients in design, trademark infringement and unfair competition proceedings.

Tim Kowalski is senior counsel and head of patent licensing and transactions at Google. Prior to joining Google, he was lead intellectual property counsel at Motorola and later at Motorola Mobility. Previously, Tim worked in private practice at Arnold, White & Durkee and then Jenkens & Gilchrist. Tim received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and his J.D., cum laude, from University of Illinois Chicago School of Law.

Tim Pohlmann is the Managing Director for the Americas at LexisNexis Intellectual Property, a position he assumed following the company’s acquisition of IPlytics in 2022. Prior to that, Tim was the founder and CEO of IPlytics, leading the company for a decade. He holds a doctorate in economics from the Berlin Institute of Technology.
