DevOps teams can get bogged down with cumbersome code, systems integration, out-of-date tools, or simply the time demands technology and a company’s ever evolving tech configuration create. While tech stability and improvement are essential to progress and achievement, developers can get stuck in the mire of infrastructure, leaving little time for innovation, creative code, or even collaboration.

While many consultancy companies exist to help support DevOps teams, few offer product solutions that dynamically take care of infrastructure and leave developers to do what they do best: create.

By Developers, For Developers

Cloud 66 is a product company, not a consultancy. Their products are built by developers to support fellow developers. Most DevOps tools are built to be used by Operators, Site Reliability Engineers, or DBAs. As application developers, Cloud 66 set out to build Ops tools for developers–crafting tools that make the servers work for the applications and allowing Cloud 66 to act as a partner, not just a provider, to their clients.

Founded in 2011 and launched in 2012, Cloud 66, a Techstars company, is backed by investors from across the US, UK, and Europe, including Dell Ventures. Profitable, privately owned, and in this for the long haul, the company is based in San Francisco and London. Cloud 66 products function like a company’s own customized DevOps team, making it easy for developers to configure and deploy software to any server. Offering the convenience of Platform as a Service, with the flexibility of clients retaining their already established servers, Cloud 66 makes DevOps easy with a single, integrated toolkit. They take care of uptime, scaling, and security, just like an in-house team would. Choosing to partner with Cloud 66 allows companies to combine a reliability of deployments and management of any web or mobile application (the convenience of PaaS) with the flexibility and control of IaaS, for all their Rails, Node, and containerized (Kubernetes) infrastructure. Developers retain full control of their infrastructure (no vendor lock-in) and gain invaluable time, freeing companies to focus less on troubleshooting and more on building great products that their customers love. Cloud 66 deploys Rails apps 2 million times a day for thousands of developers around the world and gets better with every use.

Partnering with 15,000 developers and serving 1000+ companies in 120 countries, companies that utilize Cloud 66 offerings benefit from the more than 3 billion developer deployments they’ve supported since 2012. Significant experience over time translates to smooth user interactions and growth for companies that use one, or more, of Cloud 66’s suite of products.

Cloud 66 currently offers four products, two are framework-based and two are containers-based. Within framework, the offerings are Cloud 66 for Rails (build, deploy, and manage any Ruby/ Rails/ Rack application to any cloud or server) and Cloud 66 for Node (pain-free deployments of your Node application to any cloud or server). The containers-based products include Cloud 66 Skycap (the easiest way to deploy and run applications on any existing Kubernetes cluster) and Cloud 66 Maestro (builds and manages Kubernetes clusters on any cloud or server–the perfect tool to run applications in any language or framework via containers).

Cloud 66 products are always improving with new features, best practices, and the latest proven technologies. Support for new providers, databases, and libraries are continuously added. With 2 million deployments a day, Cloud 66 stays ahead to make sure clients’ deployments are always successful when they need them.

LOT Network and Cloud 66

Thanks to membership in the LOT Network, Cloud 66 is now immune to future claims by PAEs against any patents owned by LOT Network members. If a member of the network later transfers a patent to a PAE, all members of the network are automatically immune to claims by that PAE. This effectively eliminates litigation risk and the costs associated with any PAE assertions. As a member, Cloud 66 is immunized against over 2.2 million assets.

“We are excited to join LOT Network. We believe that LOT Network plays an important role in the responsible branding and protection against the patent trolls,” said  Khash Sajadi, CEO of Cloud 66. “It empowers the whole community and allows companies to focus on innovation or, in our case, in creating products that make developers’ lives easier.”

With hundreds of LOT Network members throughout the world, ranging from Fortune 500 enterprises to small startups, LOT brings together businesses dedicated to protecting the global intellectual property community by taking a long-term stand against patent trolls. This united mission strengthens and protects each LOT Network member. Each subscribing company has made a strategic decision to do the right thing for the global Intellectual Property community by taking a long-term stand against patent trolls.
