DEI Initiatives. Today’s RFPs now routinely include diversity as a rating metric, yet some firms still struggle with diversity numbers. The Foundation for Advancement of Diversity in IP Law (The Foundation), formerly the American Intellectual Property Law Education Foundation, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that is accelerating the development of a more diverse IP professional community and provides firms with a solution for diversification.

The Foundation annually awards $30,000 law school scholarships and showcases a robust career guidance program to select qualified diverse Scholars. The Foundation’s main goal is to offer its programming to incoming law students who have demonstrated a commitment to diversity and inclusion and are exploring careers in patent law in the US.

LOT Network supports and has partnered with FADIPL to increase awareness of the Scholar Program.  Please consider donating to the Foundation by its annual Giving Day on April 26th (World IP Day) and encouraging your outside counsel to financially support The Foundation.  To learn more, please visit https://diversityiniplaw.org/support-the-foundation/ or email fadipl@aipla.org.
