Bilibili is one of the leading video platforms in China and is particularly popular among the country’s millennials. In its explorations into international audiences, the Shanghai-based company turned to a patent pool to shield itself from overseas infringement actions. Nan Liu, general counsel of Bilibili’s Legal Department, shared the company’s patent strategy approach with IAM as well as the challenges faced by its boutique IP team.
