In these challenging times, our focus at LOT is to support you and your companies to the best of our ability. While I look forward to the amazing solutions and resources that our member companies will provide to help to solve this crisis, I also want to extend an offer to help where possible.
Many of you are busy implementing your company’s work from home policy or your respective state’s shelter in place requirements, so I will be brief. The health and well being of our community is of utmost priority which is why we have rescheduled BRIDGE, our annual members’ meeting, to October 14-15, 2020. We hope this gives us enough time to recover and return to a normal life. A toast of champagne to celebrate what we have overcome will be in order.
Thank you everyone for your well wishes and inquiries regarding how LOT Network has been impacted by COVID-19. I am happy to report that all of our global team members are healthy and working hard to get through this. We were grateful to end 2019 with great momentum. Last year we had 238 companies join including industry leaders like Toyota, Comcast, Disney, US Bank, Visa, AON, Citibank, Caterpillar, John Deere, Twitter, and United Health Group to name just a few. Full list here.
That momentum has only accelerated in 2020 with the addition of IBM. Not only is IBM historically the largest issuer of US patents and owner of one of the largest patent portfolios in the world, but is well recognized for having one of the most active patent monetization programs. As more and more LOT members look to sell portions of their portfolio, so too grows the value proposition of LOT. We have already had 78 companies join our community in 2020 alone — almost one every day. Our 675+ members are now permanently immunized against over 2.4 million patent assets worldwide.
Finally, while most are finding that major in-office projects have been put on hold during this crisis, many are also finding that joining LOT Network now is an easy way to demonstrate proactivity while at the same time doing something very positive for their company.
And again, if there is anything we can do to help in these difficult times, please don’t hesitate to lean on our community. We wish all of you health and peace until we can see you in person soon!
